Frank McComb – Tribute To The Masters
http://frankmccomb.info/
You can feel the love and admiration that Frank has for his peers in “Tribute To The Masters”. He pays homage to the modern day masters of the ivories. This group includes Chick Corea, George Duke, Russell Ferante, Herbie Hancock and Ramsey Lewis. In the Frank McComb fashion he captures the essence of each individual as he portrays each artist in each track. Immediately you sense the artist in each track thru the melody. The track E72nd St. has got Patrice Rushen written all over it. Frank did his homework on that selection, it’s like he is conversing with Baby Fingers (Patrice) and sharing the love with you. I was driving in traffic when heard the track Movin In Traffic (Russell Ferante). It’s a great selection to have playing driving home from a hard day of work. My favorite track is Just Ride (George Duke). I have always loved George’s willingness and his influence in the growth of the many artists he has help produce. I see Frank is a member in that club, with the way he arranged that beautiful selection. The coolest track is Cha Cha it’s so Ramsey (Ramsey Lewis), very dignified and elegant. I get flashbacks on the track If It Wasn’t for Herbie and Chic. Herbie Hancock and Cick Corea set the bar; these two cats wrote the book on modern day keyboarding. What a way to pay respect Frank!!! No disrespect to the late James Brown but Frank McComb is now the hardest working man in show business. Let’s get out and support this dedicated brother.
